SBC has declared that its leading trade exhibition, the SBC Gathering, will be relocating from Barcelona to Lisbon in 2024.
SBC stated that the choice to transfer the gathering to Lisbon was made because Fira Barcelona Montjuïc could no longer handle the demand.
The gathering, previously known as SBC Summit Barcelona, has been retitled SBC Summit 2024.
The show will be held at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL) from September 24-26, 2024. The new location boasts 100,000 square meters of exhibit and conference space.
The event company stated that the extra space will allow them to accommodate 25,000 participants at the show. They also added that they will now be able to accommodate 600 exhibitors and invite 500 speakers.
“We decided to find a new home for our leading event due to its phenomenal growth, which has clearly outgrown Fira Barcelona Montjuïc, and the praise and support it has received from clients and industry stakeholders,” said SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark.
“When we say this is the fastest-growing event in the industry, we mean it, and that’s why finding the right location and city is crucial.”
The news comes after Clarion Events announced that its leading gambling trade show, ICE, will be moving from London to Barcelona in 2025.
