The Cordish Companies have initiated a new land-based gambling venture in Pennsylvania. This establishment will be part of a substantial 1.3 million square foot Westmoreland Mall development project. It will provide 750 slot machines and around 30 live game tables, in addition to sports betting, dining options, and live performance spaces. The project is anticipated to generate $188 million in annual economic impact, on top of the $148 million in economic impact from the construction phase. It will also create 960 direct and indirect construction positions and 500 permanent new positions. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Pennsylvania State Senator Kim Ward and State Representative George Dunbar, alongside Cordish Companies executives. “Our team is enthusiastic about entering the Pittsburgh market and showcasing our approach and creation of unique entertainment experiences for our patrons,” stated Reed Cordish, a principal of Cordish Companies.
