The United States Gaming Association (USGA) has selected industry expert Michael Rumbolz to be its upcoming chief. Rumbolz, broadly esteemed for his extensive background, will assume the position of President in January 2024 for a two-year period.

He takes on the role formerly held by Jim Allen, Head of Hard Rock International and Chief Executive Officer of Seminole Gaming, who has functioned as USGA President since January 2022.

“I’m grateful to be selected as USGA’s next Chair and anticipate assisting in steering the gaming sector into the future,” stated Rumbolz. “The USGA is addressing transformative matters, from opposing unlawful gambling to advancing responsible gaming, and I’m enthusiastic to expand upon the advancements achieved under Jim’s direction.”

Rumbolz’s tenure is distinguished by remarkable leadership across diverse segments of the gaming industry. He previously acted as President and Chief Executive Officer of Everi, a prominent gaming technology supplier. His background also encompasses serving as Chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, a testament to his regulatory proficiency, and as Nevada’s Lead Deputy Attorney General.

“I’m delighted to welcome Mike—a genuine legend in gaming—as the USGA’s next Chair,” remarked Bill Miller, USGA President and Chief Executive Officer. “Mike’s expertise as an operator, producer, and regulator is unparalleled and will be crucial to propelling significant progress on the industry’s primary objectives.”

Rumbolz’s broad experience encompasses gaming equipment production and distribution, casino management, financial technology, and gaming law and oversight, making him exceptionally qualified to head the USGA.

Bill Miller also noted that Jim’s knowledge, foresight, and guidance have been essential in achieving the American Gaming Association’s goals and amplifying their influence within the sector. He conveyed his appreciation for Jim’s reliable advice throughout the last couple of years.

Throughout Jim Allen’s term, the gaming sector has been working to rebound from the pandemic while concurrently addressing the growth of illicit gambling, a pattern observed globally.

In his parting words, Allen commented on the unparalleled robustness of both the sector and the association. He voiced significant satisfaction in their accomplishments over the preceding two years, emphasizing their part in not only hastening the industry’s revival but also in shaping and promoting fresh objectives.
