The US Gaming Association (AGA) has designated veteran gaming leader Michael Rumbolz as its upcoming Chair. Rumbolz, possessing extensive expertise from diverse segments of the gaming sector, will commence his two-year tenure in January 2024.
Rumbolz will take over from Jim Allen, who has held the post since January 2022. The AGA conveyed assurance in Rumbolz’s guidance, emphasizing his background as an operator, provider, and overseer. Rumbolz formerly held the position of President and CEO of Everi, a gaming tech firm. His notable credentials also encompass serving as the Chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Chief Deputy Attorney General of Nevada.
“I am humbled to have the chance to act as the next chair of the AGA and to assist in shaping the future course of the gaming industry,” remarked Rumbolz. He voiced his dedication to expanding upon the advancements achieved under Allen’s direction, particularly in tackling crucial matters like unlawful gambling and advocating for responsible gaming.
Bill Miller, AGA President and CEO, lauded Rumbolz as an “industry legend” and underscored the importance of his varied background in propelling the industry’s objectives.
Miller remarked, “Jim’s knowledge, foresight, and guidance have truly propelled the American Gaming Association ahead, expanding our influence on the sector as a whole. He’s been a dependable counselor, and I’m thankful for the chance to have collaborated with him over these past two years.”
Jim Allen’s term witnessed the gaming sector navigating its resurgence from the COVID-19 pandemic while concurrently combating the surge of illicit gambling activities – a pattern observed globally.
“Our sector, and our Association, have never been more robust,” stated Allen upon his exit. “I’m immensely pleased with what we’ve achieved over the last two years, not only in hastening gaming’s revival but also in outlining and promoting new objectives. The AGA is well-situated for ongoing triumph under Mike and Bill’s direction.”
