Betsson concluded 2022 on a high note, generating €220.6 million in the final quarter. This equates to a substantial $237.4 million, representing a 40% increase from the corresponding period the previous year. This robust performance propelled Betsson’s overall revenue for 2022 to an all-time high of €7.772 billion, an 18% rise compared to their 2021 results.

Although their casino games experienced a commendable 27% revenue growth, it was their sports wagering division that truly shone with an extraordinary 76% revenue surge. Profitability also soared, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reaching €51.1 million, a remarkable 68% year-over-year increase. This exceptional fourth-quarter showing contributed to a 12% rise in EBITDA for the entire year, with profit margins attaining an impressive 22.2%. During the fourth quarter alone, Betsson secured €32.7 million in net income, with earnings per share at €0.26 and an operating cash flow of €75.5 million.

Despite this success, the company’s debt saw a noticeable uptick, moving from a gain of €2.5 million to a deficit of €6.57 million. Looking back on the year, Betsson CEO Jesper Svensson proudly remarked, “2022 was a pivotal year for Betsson, marked by unparalleled expansion and profitability. This accomplishment is a testament to our prudent capital allocation, geographical diversification, strategic ventures in emerging markets, and ongoing enhancements to our technological infrastructure and product portfolio.” He further emphasized, “We attained an 18% increase in total revenue and an 11% growth in profit before tax. Examining organic growth, our revenue surged by an impressive 27%.”

Svensson’s guidance did not go unnoticed. He was honored as CEO of the Year at the esteemed Global Gaming Awards London in 2023. Global Gaming Magazine even featured him in an exclusive interview…

Betssons top executive, Pontus Lindwall, will be collaborating with Svensson at the gaming industry gathering during the ICE London exhibition in 2023.
